Fordite is composed of many layers of hardened automotive paint, formed on the tracks and skids of hand-spray-painting cars in factories before. The excess enamel paint built up in layers and was repeatedly baked in ovens during car curing processes. After hardening, this paint mass becomes dense enough to be cut and polished, resembling agate, with unique, colorful swirls that reflect the different colors used in production over time.
